At Llanmiloe School, we believe that in order to be ready to learn, we must first be physically and emotionally prepared. Health and well-being are a top priority for us, and we are dedicated to supporting our learners in every aspect of their physical and emotional health. We strive to create a school environment where children feel happy, healthy, and ready to take on the challenges of learning.
Healthy Eating & Hydration
We are committed to promoting healthy eating habits in our school. All food and drinks provided during breakfast club and lunchtime follow the Welsh government’s healthy eating guidelines. To further encourage healthy choices, we ask that all learners bring a fruit snack to enjoy during breaktime. Additionally, drinking plenty of water is essential for concentration. We encourage all learners to stay hydrated throughout the day to help them remain focused and energised.
Physical Fitness & Active Play
Physical fitness is a key part of our school life, and we prioritise it through our physical development curriculum. We also believe in fostering a love of movement through our active play areas, which include a large school field, climbing equipment, and our forest area. These spaces encourage students to be active and enjoy outdoor play.
As part of our commitment to physical fitness, we follow the Daily Mile initiative. Every day, students run, jog, or sometimes walk at their own pace for 15 minutes, helping to improve both their physical health and mental well-being.

Bronze Ambassadors
Our Bronze Ambassadors play a vital role in promoting physical activity within the school. They plan and lead their own ‘Codwch a Symudwch’ sessions 2-3 times a week in the afternoons, helping their peers get active and develop a love for exercise and sport. These sessions create an enjoyable and inclusive way for students to stay active and engaged.
KiVa Anti-Bullying Program
We are a KiVa school! KiVa is a research-based, evidence-driven anti-bullying program that has been proven effective through large-scale scientific studies. The program is designed to prevent bullying and address it effectively when it occurs. KiVa focuses on three main elements: prevention, intervention, and monitoring. By embedding KiVa into our school culture, we ensure that our students experience a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.

Swimming Program
In the Summer Term, all learners have the opportunity to develop their swimming skills at Carmarthen Leisure Centre. Over three weeks, children participate in swimming lessons delivered by both our school staff and qualified swimming instructors. On swimming days, learners are asked to bring a swimming costume, towel, and swimming hat to ensure they are fully prepared for their sessions.
